Many of us when travelling want the window seat to get a good look at the take-off, landing and if weather permits sunsets and stars.
Paris-based design company Technicon Design has unveiled their IXION Windowless Jet Concept, that provides a 360-degree view using cameras mounted on the plane’s exterior to capture the outside scenery and then project that to cabin walls and ceiling.
In addition to displaying the panoramic view of the exterior, the system can project any scene on to the interior screens in high-res, from a flight through Grand Canyon to a trip to the Mars.
Windowless plane would also reduce the cost of the plane, while also reducing the weight.
“The ethos of the project is simple, to challenge current thinking, and propose something a little different, but not just a fantasy. It has to be credible and relevant, yet provoke discussion,” told design director Gareth Davies.
